there is a brass band playing WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN.
this is not the first time i've heard them play - now they've moved into a new song, and they're getting louder?

Fanfare! I love fanfare. They're like little random marching bands.
As far as I'm concerned, I hear music too. My neighbor has been playing "My Heart Will Go On" 26 times in a row today.
