last night, contrary to my normal habits, i ventured out into the experience that is known as 'La Fête de la Musique'. in my humble opinion, it should be changed to 'La Fête du Bruit' (festival/celebration of noise).
to be fair, my impression of the evening may have been coloured by the fact that we were sitting near le jardin luxembourg and were receiving the audio stimuli from at least 5 different groups simultaneously. which resulted in, what i would deem, "noise pollution".

sounds like Festival!
I'm french and I live in Paris.
You are right! It's fête de cacophonie.
This is a condition that is also known as "old-fogey-itis".
Although we avoided the everything-too-close-together city celebrations and listened to bongo drummers near our apartment ;)
