roméo et juliette

i'm listening to the french musical Roméo et Juliette. (which i hated the first time i listened to it all the way through) - but as it's playing in the background, something caught my ear:

"Tybalt, Tybalt, tu vas mourir
Tybalt, Tybalt, fini de rire"

now, if you are familiar with shakespeare, in english - at least the way i've always heard it pronounced - it is Tybalt.

ti-BALT.

what caught my ear was something that sounded "T-BOT"
which gave me visions of this robo-cop kind of tybalt running around verona.

(am i the only one to find that funny?)

maybe i should suggest this to the SILENCE! THE MUSICAL guys who are working on a musical verison of ROBO-COP.
hmmmm.
